South Valley Almond Company is seeking a results-driven and collaborative Sales Associate/Shipping Supervisor to join our local team.
This role enhances the customer experience by providing world-class logistical support by ensuring a high level of customer service and timely and accurate fulfillment of contract shipments.
Responsibilities:
* Manage new buyer and broker setup.
* Maintain Claims Log daily and tracking of claims and communication.
* Ensure accuracy and enter contract load into CHIPS, send finalized contract sent to customer.
* Ship sample requests from the Sales department.
* Liaison between Sales, Processing, Quality Control, Accounting to confirm shipments are correct and timely with regular updates.
* Monitor each step of the shipping process to avoid rolled bookings and that they meet compliance for finished goods with fumigation regulations and export compliance.
* Test and train new weigh masters according to The State Division of Measurement Standards.
* Provide monthly reports for sub-grades, old crop inventory and Inedible Disposition obligation.
* Coordinate all Inedible Disposition shipments in conjunction with Sales, Accounting, Almond Board of California, and USDA.
* Coach, mentor and supervise daily activities of the Shipping Department.
* Attend on-site safety training and comply with company, state, and industry safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
* 3+ years relevant sales/shipping experience with demonstrated mathematical aptitude, solid decision-making skills, and knowledge of industry standards including shipping and logistics requirements.
* Weighmaster’s license.
* Previous experience in a supervisory or management role preferred.
* Associate’s degree or trade school certification required.
Bachelor’s degree a plus.
* Solid demonstrated customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Bilingual Spanish helpful.
* Proficient computer skills with ability to learn new programs and systems including Excel and inventory software.
* Excellent time management, analytical, reporting, and troubleshooting skills with keen attention to detail.
