Daughter Project Girls Home (DPGH) *Organization* Global Family is a non-profit organization operating in the United States, Canada, El Salvador, France, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
Founded in 2007, we aim to protect children and preserve families around the world by providing alternative, family-based care for children who are abandoned, abused, and exploited.
The DPGH is a branch of Global Family which provides crisis and intervention care for individuals who are identified as commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC), homeless, runaways, or otherwise in need of short-term shelter and care in the United States.
The group home setting (STRTP) provides specialized services that meet the complex needs of CSEC as well as a safe environment conducive to healing from any trauma.
*Location* Bakersfield, California *Position* The Meal Preparation Specialist will play an instrumental role in caring for DPGH youth.
The MPS will be responsible for preparation and serving of meal for the girls at the DPGH.
The MPS will report to the Facility Manager/Administrator *Must be 21 years of age or older and must have valid driving license.
Must successfully complete a background check within first two weeks of job offer.
* *Current Shifts Available as of 12/19/2023* MPS: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri, 11am-7pm *Responsibilities* Responsibilities Specifically for Meal Preparation Specialist include, but are not limited to: -Placing orders for dinner, through assigned staff -Preparing dinner with youth - Serving dinner - Cleanup - Provide a positive, safe, and creative environment conducive for healing.
- Promote a home-like environment that teaches youth independent living skills.
- Identify client needs and collaborates with DPGH staff members to connect client to services needed.
- Work with youth in an empathetic, nonjudgmental, client-centered, and trauma-informed manner.
*Qualifications* -Interest in sharing cooking skills - Associates degree (preferred) and a minimum of one-year experience working with youth - Experience working with CSEC and at-risk population - Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to be self-motivated and disciplined - Excellent time management skills and abilities to multi-task and prioritize - Knowledge in software applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
