*TITLE:* Activity Leader
*REPORTS TO: *Site Coordinator
*SCHEDULE:* Part Time (starting at 3 hour shifts)
*PRIMARY FUNCTION:*
Plans, teaches, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, such as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.
*SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:*
* *High School Diploma or GED*
* *Must have 48 college units/68 quarter units or have a paraprofessional certificate.
*
* *Must be 18 years of age or older.
*
* _EXPERIENCE_ in one of the following subject areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, Performing Arts
* _EXPERIENCE _ working with children
* Knowledge of youth development
* Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
* Ability to deal with the general public
* Ability to create lesson plans, teaching and implementation of quality programs for youth.
* Ability to assist with organization and supervision of members in a safe environment at all times.
*RELATIONSHIPS:*
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External: Maintains contact with schools, members' parents and others to assist in publicizing the After School Program and resolving problems within Club.
